Ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente. Aunque en inglés no venga a ser lo mismo, vamos a usar el sentido de la expresión de toda la vida.

… Out of mind. Although someone uses this expression to make me stop eating Doritos and, also, there’s a subtle difference between the Spanish and English expression, let’s give my own touch to it.

Y es así, cuando uno no ve a alguien o el efecto de alguna acción, se queda más ancho que largo. La gracia está en saber ver, es decir, pensar, en aquella persona o en aquella acción con causa y consecuencia.

And that’s it. When one doesn’t see someone or the effect of an action, one can play ignorance. Now, the hardest thing and the best, in my opinion, is living thinking of that person and the cause and consequences of our actions.

Por circumstancias de esta vida, que es rica, rica, rica, tengo que mantener la mayoría de mis amistades  en la distancia. Y las que no lo son, también tengo que mantenerlas, porque siempre hay cosas que no vemos, pero hay que sentirlas, tener en cuenta o pensarlas, de la expresión en inglés.

Because of circumstances of this beautiful life, I have to keep most of my friendships in the distance. And the ones that are not in the distance, I also have to keep them, because there are things that we don’t see but we have to think about, bare in mind or feel, using the Spanish expression.

Pues me voy a permitir el lujo de decir que para mi eso es ser generoso y que se vive más feliz intentando serlo que aburriéndose con las propias miserias.

So I’ll take the liberty to say that, to me, that’s being generous and one is happier trying to be that way, rather than getting bored with the own miseries.
