Después de un fin de semana movidito, no entra nada mal una de ‘peli y palomitas’.

No es que vaya cada semana a la tienda de DVD/discos, pero los frutos de ello me están encantando últimamente. La semana pasada fuimos otra vez, pero aún no puedo compartir cuanto he disfrutado las compras porque no he tenido tiempo para películas últimamente, pero de las anteriores sí que puedo opinar.

After a busy weekend, it’s not a bad idea to go for one of ‘sofa, movie and popcorn’.

hmv is not where I usually kill time, however, I’m enjoying it, recently. We went last week, after a month, but I still haven’t watched any of the movies we bought. I can comment on the previous ones, though.

Salimos de la tienda con Gran Torino, The Artist y The Social Network y dejando aparte mi obsesión por Filmaffinity y votaciones y seguimientos, Gran Torino se llevó la palma.

We came out of the shop with Gran Torino, The Artist and The Social Network and, Filmaffinity obsessions aside, Gran Torino was the best by far.

Hacía tiempo que no me iba a la cama pensando en una película como lo hice con esta. Y ya es decir, pues vi la película de exorcismos The Conjuring, hace dos semanas (decidí no pensar en ello).

It’s been a while since I haven’t gone to bed thinking of a movie the way I did and it’s impressive because I watched the Conjuring two weeks ago (I chose not to think about it).

Clint Eastwood y su personaje me llevó rondando la cabeza día sí y otro también. Arisco y gruñón, acaba por robarte el corazón (rodolí). Me quedé absorbida en la historia, metida hasta hacerme llorar.

Clint Eastwood’s character stayed in my mind for days. Rude and grumpy, he ends up being a lovely old man. And I ended up crying like a baby.

The Artist es también otra muy buena película, que me arrancó sonrisas y me acercó a esos años veinte, donde parecía que se iniciaba todo, en un país al otro lado del charco, claro está. La fotografía, el vestuario… ¡OLÉ!

The Artist is also a very good movie, that made me cry and gave me  an insight into the 20’s, in a very far, far away country, where almost everything was invented. The photography, costume design… OLÉ!

Por otra parte, The Social Network, me tuvo bien enganchadita hasta el final, provocando risas entre los presentes, más que nada porque parece mentira que se empezara como un juego, lo que es ahora una arma (para bien y para mal) tan poderosa. Me fascinó.

And The Social Network got me hooked till the end, making those present laugh. It’s funny how this big Facebook that we know now started as a silly game by a heartbroken weirdo. It’s fascinating.

En fin, que espero no haberos fastidiado la peli con mi opinión y que aún tengáis ganas de verlas, porque merecen la pena. 😉

So, I hope I haven’t spoiled the movies and you still feel like watching them because they are highly recommended. 😉
