Two months ago a senior consultant recommended this movie to all junior doctors in the ward. It took me a while to find it, since I’ve been moving around for the past 2 months and also because it isn’t main stream cinema, making more difficult to find a venue where it’s showing.

Hace dos meses un adjunto senior del hospital recomendó a todos los residentes que miráramos esta peli. Me ha costado encontrarla, no sólo por el traqueteo de los últimos mesos, sinó también porque es una película independiente que no la echan en todos los cines. 

We finally watched it in the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in London.  Original version. Old school cinema. I was actually glad that El Hombre would come and watch it. After all, it’s a way of sharing what I do and love.  The setting couldn’t be better.

Al final la vimos en el Lycée Francés de Londres, en versión original, en un cine viejo y cutre. El Hombre me acompañó, cosa que me hizo mucha ilusión, ya que es una manera de compartir lo que hago y quiero.

The story couldn’t be better either. Benjamin  (on the left) dreams of becoming a great doctor. But his first experience as junior doctor in his father’s service, Professor Barois, doesn’t turn out the way he hoped it would. He’ll have to face his own limits, his fears, those of his patients, families, doctors and the staff, who he works so close with.

La historia era buena. Benjamin (a la izquierda) sueña con convertirse en un gran médico. Pero su primera experiencia como médico en el servicio de su padre no es lo que él se esperaba. Se tendrá que enfrentar con sus limitaciones, miedos, los de sus pacientes y sus familias y colegas, con los que trabaja de muy cerca.
